Accession Details

Pentaploid curtilobum collected in Bolivia before 1993.

Observations

Clone.  Tubers ovate and laterally compressed.  Blue skin and white flesh with a little blue.  Large, robust plants.  Better frost resistance that nearly all domesticated potatoes.  Heavy flowering and good berrying under open pollination.  Short day tuberizer.  Not bitter.  All purpose texture.  Good flavor.  Heavy flowering and berrying.  Small berries with relatively low seed counts.

Commentary

Probably best harvested around the end of November.  Best yield of the S. curtilobum accessions available from the potato genebank.
