Accession Details
A stenotomum type diploid collected in Cusco Peru before 1953. GRIN notes resistance to early blight, Fusarium, ringrot. S type cytoplasm (Hosaka 1988).
Observations
TPS. Very poor germination. No germ on the first try. On the second try, there was no germination under standard conditions, but two seedlings appeared after five months on the outdoor failures shelf. Very slow growing, but eventually reached normal size. Lumpy tubers. Tubers blue with partially blue flesh and yellow with yellow flesh. The blue was sprouting at harvest. Moderate flowering and good berry set with hand pollination between the two seedling plants. Long day tuberization. Very short stolons.
Commentary
I’ll do another evaluation from the bulked seed of this accession.
