Solanum chomatophilum information and growing instructions |
Solanum chomatophilum is an extremely widespread and variable wild diploid potato species from Peru. This species often grows in very dry climates and may be a good source of genetics for drought resistance. Plants are often large and bushy and they have attractive purple flowers. Stolons are very long and tubers are typically small, although it looks like it should be possible to select for larger tubers based on the existing variability.
